EcoSystems innovated this program to help elementary school children renovate and restore gardens at their schools. EcoSystems donated materials,soil,pavers,and plants to the project and orchestrated the rehabilitation of the gardens with the students and their parents. Parents, teachers, and students bonded through restoring the gardens. EcoSystems founder Jason Hamon visited classrooms and designed curriculum to teach about the composition of healthy soil and the food web and how to be water-wise when growing food. Each week Jason came and led an hour of tending the garden. Students and parents harvested the garden and took the food home to eat with their families. EcoSystems set up mini kitchens in the gardens where students cooked together in the garden and experienced eating living food.
